About Cheatham County Central High School

Cheatham County Central High School is one of the three public high schools that are part of Cheatham County Schools. It is located just outside of Ashland City, Tennessee, along Highway 12. CCCHS's nickname is the Cubs. Its main structure was built in 1970 and was designed in the "pod" architectural style.

The principal of CCCHS is Daniel Newton and its assistant principal is Theresa Chandler.

At Cheatham County Central, the school day begins promptly at 7:45 a.m. and, on regular days, school dismisses at 2:45.

CCCHS operates on a block schedule. Students take four classes per semester and are thus able to take eight complete courses per year.

On Tuesday and Thursday at CCCHS, each class lasts for an hour and a half. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, each class is about ten minutes shorter, with a special time in the morning set aside for "enrichment," which generally means extra instruction, tutoring and organizational meetings.
